AMAG, Memory Way and Bode Technology Join Forces to help mia families
A Faster DNA Pathway for Families of Missing International Volunteers
AMAG and Memory Way are proud to announce a new partnership with Bode Technology that will help families seeking answers about international volunteers missing as a result of the war in Ukraine.
Through this partnership, AMAG and Memory Way will assist families with individual case intake and coordinate the collection of appropriate family reference samples. Bode Technology will provide specialized laboratory processing and DNA profiling of those samples.
The resulting family reference profiles can then be submitted through appropriate, authorized channels for comparison with postmortem DNA profiles. This will help ensure that critical reference samples are available when unidentified remains are recovered—reducing avoidable delays and supporting timely, accurate identifications.
This initiative is intended to:
- Give families a clear and accessible pathway for providing DNA.
- Expedite the collection and laboratory processing of family reference samples.
- Support secure and responsible DNA comparison.
- Strengthen identification efforts across international boundaries.
- Ensure families remain at the center of every case.
Providing a family reference sample does not mean that a loved one has been recovered, nor does it guarantee an identification. It ensures that essential comparison data is available if and when it is needed.
Every sample represents a person. Every case represents a family waiting for answers.
